CIEC invites submissions of conference poster proposals/abstracts for the upcoming conference in Austin, TX, February 3-5, 2016. The purpose of this conference is to bring together engineering professionals from academia and industry who are engaged in engineering education initiatives to share information on experiences and best practices. The poster session will allow participants an additional venue to share information on research, programs, and other areas pertinent to engineering education.
Poster presentations will be on Wednesday, February 3, 3:30 to 4:00 pm AND Thursday, February 4, 10:00 to 10:45 am. Information will be forthcoming for the location of the session.
Guidelines for poster preparation and shipping follow. When submitting your proposals/abstracts, please indicate whether you will ship your poster or bring it with you to the conference.
- Posters must be 3 ft. x 4 ft. and will be hung vertically using Velcro or tacks which will be provided by the conference.
- A poster presentation number will be given to you for the placement of your poster and a brief description in the handout.
- At least one of the authors must be present at the assigned space and designated sessions on Thursday, February 4, for the poster session.
- When designing your poster for the space to be used for the CIEC conference, keep these tips in mind:
a. The information must be readable from a distance of approximately 3-4 feet.
b. Use simple fonts and font sizes that are easy to read. Bold types can be used to ensurelegibility.
c. Keep text to a minimum. Arrows, numbers or bullet points can help to show the viewers the preferred sequence in which your poster should be viewed.
d. Avoid crowded and clustered posters that are difficult to read.
e. Include the title of the presentation at the top of the board in large letters, the names of the author’s and the institutions they represent. - A brief abstract of your presentation/poster is due to Rita Burrell via email (rburrell@bagley.msstate.edu; cell # 662-418-5217), CIEC 2015 Poster Session Chair, no later than January 11, 2016.
